About Kirsten Hubmann – Holistic Massage Therapist

Hello, my name is Kirsten. I was born in London to English / Austrian parents, grew up in the Home Counties and then spent the majority of my 20s working in the not for profit sector in London and volunteering abroad.

Love of movement

I sat in offices and spent most of the time feeling like a caged animal, wishing I was outside.  Wishing that I could get up and move my body when I felt I needed to. I had far too much energy to sit still all day and I wanted to interact, with people, with living things, not computers! I wanted to be able to express myself!

Earth and humanity

Large parts of my childhood were spent immersed in the natural world, running barefoot around the farms, picking up stray kittens, making hay and talking to strangers. I can feel the sense of freedom and adventure as I write and the deep connection I have always felt to the earth and humanity.  But I’ve always felt things very deeply, and at times, it’s felt too much. So I needed ways to work with this.

Massage

In 2015 I came across BCMB’s Holistic Massage course and spent a wonderful year learning all kinds of bodywork techniques to help aid a person’s healing. I now give relaxing, nurturing treatments at Neal’s Yard Therapy Rooms in Edinburgh. You can find me here Kirsten Hubmann Neal’s Yard.

Other things I love

I am a hugely passionate and soulful woman who can otherwise be found wild swimming, dancing, drumming, gardening, walking the dog and pounding the hills. I love to read, sing, write poems, cook, watch good films, travel and go to conscious festivals. Other times I simply like to sit and stare and take it all in.

Oh and of course, there is nothing like a sumptuous massage to bring me back to myself!

I look forward to meeting you.

With deep gratitude.
